Khapli is an ancient variety of wheat also known as emmer or diccocum wheat. Khapliatta is great for diabetics due to a low glycemic index and can be used in place of regular wheat atta. The emmer is a good source of protein, iron, dietary fiber, thiamine and a number of other B Vitamins. Its capacity to lower blood glucose and lipid levels and high temperature stress tolerance compared to other cultivated species makes it therapeutic.
